Kim Kardashian, the actress-model-celebutante-television personality, who is blessed with lucrative deals such as her D-A-S-H boutique and her ShoeDazzle business has signed a deal with 50 Cent’s Lighthouse Beauty company recently, and is now gearing up to launch her first signature scent.
The scent is named after her. She is working with Claude Dir, a perfume expert from Givaudan and she’s been involved rather deeply in the project.
The sexy single star is super excited about the project and shared her fascination of fragrances ever since she was small:
“When I was little, my sister Kourtney and I tried to make our own perfume by picking flowers and putting them in the blender, because that’s how we thought fragrances were made. Our parents thought we were crazy — and it smelled totally gross!”
But obvious this smell will not be gross but amazing with the expert working with her.
The fragrance notes will include Jasmine, Tuberose, Gardenia, Tonka Bean, and Sandalwood. Kardashian says she has learned a lot throughout development of the project and she believes “…that end result is the perfect extension of my own personal style.”
Kim has selected the perfume with her choice in every way. The beautiful bottle is designed by Scott Oshry and Sean Brosmith of Maesa, and Kim involved her fans’ opinions in determining which bottle design to use for her fragrance. She polled her 2.5 million followers on Twitter. The color of the cap was defined by the fans of Kim as she posted two pictures of a hot-pink version and a pale-pink version and asked them to select one.
The fragrance will be available exclusively for the first three months at Sephora around Mother’s Day, 2010. This won’t be the end of Kim’s beauty venture, as she will also launch a second fragrance due out in 2011 and a future cosmetics line.
The scent is also priced very economically as first collection will have eaux de parfum stock keeping units: 1 oz. which will retail for $32, 1.7 oz. for $45, 3.4 oz. for $65 and a 0.33-oz. rollerball for $16.
