Tata Motors confirmed that they have increased the Nano production by 20 per cent from this month at its Pantnagar facility inorder to clear the backlog of its popular cheapest small car.

The company is all set to increase the sales number and therefore are ramping up their production capacity by 20 per cent from this month.

"In the last three months, we have been averaging about 2,500 Nano's per month," Rajiv Dube, head of the company's passenger car business, told reporters. After the increase of 20% sales will be more than 3,000 vehicles per month.

The company had launched a next-generation sedan on Wednesday, part of its effort to build out a Nano to Jaguar car portfolio in India's fast-growing auto market, which is still dominated by small car sales.

The new Indigo Manza comes priced between Rs 4.8 lakh and Rs 6.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
