There comes a trend of launching one’s own perfume in celebrities, another celebrity of the Black Eyed Peas, Stacy Ferguson, better known as Fergie has joined the race.
It is arguably a bolder move than usual as Fergie is not exactly someone you would think of painting in soft pastel shades. But she has took a step ahead and being at the top of the charts for several weeks has convinced Avon for this. This is not for the first time though that she is linked with the beauty products. Even in 2008, she partnered with MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam campaign to raise money and awareness for the MAC AIDS fund. Having a deal with a purpose is apparently very important to the songstress.
The singer says to WWD, “I love the roster of women Avon has supported. Each one is completely different, but they are all wonderful, strong women who have a purpose. It was very important to me to bring what I have to the table. I’m a bit more rock ’n’ roll than some of the other artists, and Avon has really allowed my personality to come through”.
Fergie and Avon are being rather mysterious as the composition and name of debut fragrance are being finalized. However, she opened the secret with a hint that the soul of the fragrance will be fresh and alluring.
The name of the perfume is still not known. The scent is scheduled to debut in the third quarter of 2010 and in the fall in the US. “The vibe for the scent is for the woman who wears it to feel confident and not be afraid to be noticed.” I think Fergie is the right choice for the new fragrance of Avon.
