LG’s First Android based phone GW620 Eve with new upcoming Etna

Since long we are hearing of a launch of the Korean Giant LG’s first Android based smartphone, the GW620 or Eve, the company is slow in launching the product in market compare to other companies launching all over. But at last there are confirm news of its launch by the end of this year. The device will be available initially initially with Orange France.

Details of the LG GW620 have been leaked, with LG launching a website for the mobile which has since been taken down. The GW620 features a three inch touch screen with 320 x 240 resolution, 5MP camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack to listen to media. IT adds up the accelerometer, pull-out Qwerty keyboard, HSPA and Bluetooth 2.0.

LG has invented a whole row of CGI characters in order to demonstrate the phone’s power. The video features all the characters having a great time in the magical Android world.

Also Codenamed Etna, LG has taken its time to compete with the likes of HTC, Samsung and Motorola in releasing an Android device. Like the Eve, this will be an Android revision of the LG GW520 and will herald the start of a major Android push, in parallel with the vendor’s Windows Mobile roadmap, for 2010. More detaisl like prices or operator is not yet revealed for this model.

Etna and Eve are midrange smartphone designed for first time mobile web users and will feature push email and social networking as key homescreen features. The system also features Google Android 1.5 with a specialized S-Class UI running on top courtesy of LG’s own programming team.

The phones will cost around €250 without SIM. Making android based devices cheaper and convenient.
