Toyota & Tesla Jointly to Develop Electric Version of RAV4

With an aim to market the EV in the United States in 2012, prototypes will be made combining the Toyota RAV4 model with a Tesla electric powertrain. Tesla plans to produce and deliver a fleet of prototypes to Toyota for evaluation within this year. The first prototype has already been built and is now undergoing testing.

Daimler EBIT of 2.1 billion € in Q2 above market expectations

Daimler AG released its preliminary figures for the second quarter of 2010. Group revenues amount to 25.1 (2009:19.6) billion €, while Group Earnings before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) including special reporting items amount to 2.1 (2009: -1.0) billion €.

Mercedes-Benz launches SLS AMG in India

India is amongst the first right hand drive markets to launch the Gullwing super sports car within the first few weeks of its production (first RHD production : June 2010). Since its presentation in January 2010, the SLS AMG has already achieved 10 confirmed customer bookings from India.

GM India lunches CNG Version of Chevrolet Aveo
