Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) launched a unique promotional campaign for the Micra in association with Fever 104 FM. This first-of-its-kind activity will take place from Monday, July 19 to Friday, July 23, 2010 in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. This four-day initiative will include well-known Fever 104 RJs – Anurag Pandey and Karan Singh – conduct their shows LIVE from a Nissan Micra on the move.

The activity will promote “Coming to Office in Style and Comfort” theme with a focus on the Micra. The entire campaign will take place in two phases – teaser and revealer. In the teaser phase, promos of Nissan Micra will be aired along with RJ mentions. The teaser would involve the boss offering the Micra as solution for daily office commute to the RJs. The revealer phase will entail the actual airing of the shows live from a Micra being driven around the city.

Abhijeet Pandit, Vice President –Sales, Marketing & After Sales, Hover Automotive India, said, “We are happy to be associated with Fever 104, which is among the best FM stations in India. This unique concept will further help strengthen the Micra as the preferred mobility solution for city traffic conditions. We are confident that this alliance will hugely benefit the Micra. The initial public response to the Nissan Micra prior to its launch has been very encouraging. I am convinced that the recent price announcement will encourage more and more people to opt for the Micra as their car of choice.”

Nissan Motor India recently announced a competitive price for the Micra, which provides a complete package of features, performance, drivability and comfort. The ex-showroom Delhi prices for Nissan Micra are INR 3,98,000 for XE (entry), INR 4,69,500 for XL (mid) and INR 528,800 for XV (top) variants respectively. Furthermore, the car will be offered at a uniform ex-showroom price across the country. Available in two interior colour schemes: black and griege (only XV), the Nissan Micra will be introduced in a range of six colours; Sunlight Orange, Brick Red, Pacific Blue, Storm White, Blade Silver and Onyx Black.

The Nissan Micra boasts of category first features such as keyless entry, push-button engine start-stop system and electric foldable mirror. Another unique feature is the intelligent multi-display meter, which supplies drivers with real time fuel economy information, cruising range and outside temperature. In addition, the driver power windows are fitted with ‘one touch up/down’ feature along with a pinch guard.

The Micra also boasts of some engineering achievements such as the boomerang-shaped grooves on the roof that have a clearly defined purpose. The weight of the Micra has also been reduced to make it the lightest (XE-905kgs, XL-915kgs & XV -930kgs) yet sturdy hatchback in its segment. This has been achieved in numerous ways by reducing number of components and using newer manufacturing and material processing techniques.

The all-new Nissan Micra is powered by an all-new HR12 DOHC 12-valves 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Power is rated at 56Kw (76ps) @ 6000 rpm, while torque output is 104Nm @ 4000 rpm. The Nissan Micra comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The wide gear coverage enables the 1.2-litre engine to achieve economy and brisk acceleration.

In contrast to its high-speed capability, the car also has superb visibility and a class-topping turning radius of 4.65m. It is equipped with several new technologies that assist with minimizing C02 emissions and mileage while at the same time making parking easier.

The Nissan Micra with a top speed of 160kmph provides a class competitive fuel efficiency of 18.06 km/litre (tested and approved by ARAI). The Nissan Micra is also equipped with a class competitive boot space of 251 litres that can easily carry those extra bags of shopping during travel.

Besides these Nissan Motor India has also announced plans to expand its dealer network by increasing the number to 20 across India by July 2010. This will be further strengthened to 30 by the end of the current financial year.
