ASUS Launches U43Jc Bamboo Series Notebook in India

ASUS today reiterated its commitment to green values with a brand new Bamboo Collection notebook – U43Jc, which blends the wonders of natural design with cutting edge notebook computing and stylish mobility. A follow-up to the first Bamboo Series launched in 2008, the new U Series Bamboo Collection reconciles users’ need for computing power and connectivity. The message it carries is clear — protecting nature is a joint effort that unites us all, but it does not have to exclude innovative design, memorable style and powerful computing potential.

Speaking about the launch, Mr. Alex Huang, Country Manager – System Business, ASUS India, said “The U43Jc is as brainy as it is beautiful. ASUS’ exclusive Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) monitors processing loads and delivers the exact amount of power suited to the task at hand. Energy efficiency is further bolstered by NVIDIA Optimus technology that switches between high end discrete graphics and normal integrated visuals, depending on system usage. This is the world’s first laptop using the NVIDIA Optimus technology.”

Also speaking on behalf of NVIDIA, Mr. Nishant Goyal, Head of Sales, South Asia, NVIDIA said “NVIDIA Optimus Technology delivers both great performance and instantly directs the workload through the most efficient processor for the job, extending battery life. When playing 3D games, running videos, or using GPU compute applications the high-performance NVIDIA discrete GPU is used. When using basic applications, like web surfing or email, the integrated graphics processor is used. Thus, users can be reassured that theASUS U43Jc Bamboo Series notebook is highly energy efficient.”

The Beauty of Design
Designed for fashion and eco conscious users, the U43Jc sports smoky brown bamboo exteriors that are not overly treated so as to retain their organic look, properties and tactility — creating a personal journey for person and machine as the wood matures and changes with time. This notebook espouses an elegant, streamlined design that is subtle but very noticeable. It juxtaposes its natural bamboo exteriors with sleek, brushed aluminum interior surfaces and a seamless chiclet keyboard that is as comfortable to use as it is great to look at. One clear advantage of this diverse design is light construction — Bamboo Collection notebooks pack a lot of utility without the ensuing weight, making it easy for users to become ambassadors of good taste and environmental responsibility.

Designers picked bamboo not just for its fetching looks; it was chosen after research identified it as a quickly-replenishing resource whose utilization has almost no impact on the environment as a whole. Using bamboo also cuts plastic use by up to 15%*, delivering a premium organic feel that one would usually associate with top-end designer furniture. In addition, the notebooks’ green roots are reflected in the product packaging which is made of 100% natural and recyclable bamboo pulp and non-woven packing cloth.

The Beauty of Performance
ASUS has put a lot of intelligent technology into the U43Jc notebook. It’s exclusive Super Hybrid Engine (SHE), which monitors processing loads and delivers just the right level of power, works alongside NVIDIA Optimustechnology to conserve energy and hence extend battery life. Optimus technology intelligently switches between high end discrete graphics and normal integrated visuals, depending on system usage. Whenever possible, more energy-demanding graphics are turned off to conserve power, prolonging battery life.

It also features Syncables technology that enables effortless syncing with a plethora of devices, including desktop PCs, other notebooks, smartphones and digital cameras. This makes it easy to share files, backup data and access collections quickly. Intelligent syncing allows users to get more done using one lightnotebook as their nexus — invariably reducing their energy footprint as less equipment needs to be powered on at the same time.

USB 3.0 is another new addition to the range, reflecting the move toward ever-faster data transfers. The new standard is up to ten times faster than USB 2.0, and is fully backward compatible to ensure that all existing USB devices can still be used. And while transferring massive content and large files in mere seconds is a plus, USB 3.0 is also good for the environment, since it charges devices much faster than USB 2.0 and requires less power to do so.

The U43Jc is rigorously tested to meet ASUS’ quality assurance standards. The LCD panels come with a Zero Bright-Dot guarantee, providing peace of mind against dead pixels. The notebook also features ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence Technology which automatically tweaks colors, sharpness and other visual parameters to ensure the best experience regardless of the content being viewed.
