Gentex Corporation, the Zeeland, Michigan-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and camera-based active-safety systems for the automotive industry, commercial fire protection products and dimmable aircraft windows, has announced that it is shipping featured interior auto-dimming rearview mirrors for the all-new 2011 Volvo S60 mid-size sedan and V60 Sportswagon. The "60" in the badge name identifies the auto company's sportiest models.

"Gentex is now the top auto-dimming mirror supplier for Volvo Cars," stated Enoch Jen, Gentex Senior Vice President. "Both the S60 and V60 vehicles are brand new models in the Volvo line-up, and have been well-received in the market. Gentex is pleased that its products have been included in these two new exciting vehicles."

The S60 is available worldwide. In North America, an auto-dimming mirror with compass is standard equipment. The compass feature utilizes Gentex's proprietary Z-Nav® technology, a highly-accurate sensor that determines the vehicle's directional heading. In Europe, an auto-dimming mirror is standard on the top two trim levels of the S60 and is optional on the introductory trim level.

Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October, the V60 Sportswagon is Volvo's newest entry in the car market. Available to the European market in six different (engine) versions and four trim levels, an auto-dimming mirror is available with and without the Gentex compass technology.
