Hindalco-Novelis aluminum products for Indian autos?

What better advantage can a Group have when its constituent can supply aluminum parts to automobile manufacturers?

This is the case for Hindalco Industries Ltd, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, which will float products manufactured by Germany based Novelis - a leading supplier to several world's leading car manufacturers for the fabrication of vehicle structures and body panels like bonnets, deck lids, liftgates, doors and fenders.

Its patented Novelis’ Aluminum Vehicle Technology (AVT) makes possible for the first time ever the high-volume production of a sheet-based aluminum car structure.

Thus Indian car makers can get the decisive advantage from a domestic supplier sourcing auto parts from a subsidiary.

Another Aditya Birla Group project - Hindalco Almex Aerospace Limited is slated to be on target for manufacture of high strength aluminium alloys. This has applications in the aerospace, sporting goods and surface transport industries. According to company reports, it is slated for commissioning in fourth quarter in the current fiscal.
